ANNOUNCEMENTS
This site is dedicated to helping parents rescue their children from the catastrophe that is the American public school system.
As a parent would you say that your children are the most important thing in your life? Why then choose to turn them over to total strangers who may or may not share your philosophy on life and who seek to indoctrinate your children in their particular worldviews? Why send your precious children into harm's way, into an environment that is rife with the dangers of drugs, violence and sexual exploitation by fellow students and teachers? Are the risks worth the reward of, what can be charitably described as, a mediocre education?
For those parents in Northern Colorado that want more for their children, this site is meant as a resource to help you find the best fit for you and your family. Although not completely comprehensive, this site endeavors to provide information and contacts for local alternatives to public schools.
The alternative schooling options listed on this site are private schools, home schools, charter schools and on-line programs. Each page has a brief description of the type of schooling and lists the contact information for the local programs.
"Life affords no greater responsibility, no greater privilege, than the raising of the next generation.”
- C. Everett Koop
While most teachers would never do anything to harm a child, children are vulnerable to sexual exploitation by a teacher or any person in a position of authority over that child on a regular basis. Parents who send their children to public schools are trusting that school districts have properly vetted and done background checks on those teachers entrusted with their children.
Teachers right here in Northern Colorado have been arrested and convicted of sex crimes against their students including molesting students over a period of years, inappropriate sexual relationships with students and even having a child fathered by a student.
SEXUAL EXPLOITATION BY TEACHERS
Violence in public schools is a reality and is not confined to urban schools. Every year sees reports of shootings, stabbings assaults and rapes in the public schools. Violence in public schools is chronically underreported by administrators as noted in the article "Violence in Public Schools: A Dirty Secret" by Neal McCluskey of the CATO Institute. In his article, McClusky quotes a Denver Post story by staff writer Doug Oplinger. In the article Oplinger compared reports filed by school administrators to police reports filed. " After comparing police reports with those filed by schools, Oplinger found serious discrepancies. Among the incidents that took place at metro-area schools reporting no violence or fights of any kind last year were a boy who needed staples to close head wounds; a girl who was hospitalized with bruised kidneys; a sexual assault; a knifing; and attacks with a flagpole and a baseball bat."
